Kohima to Mokokchung

Journey through the misty hills of Nagaland from the historic capital Kohima to the cultural heartland of Mokokchung. This 3-day couple's getaway features the iconic Kisama Heritage Village, winding roads through Wokha, and romantic walks in the legendary village of Longkhum. However, recent heavy rainfall has caused significant landslides and road closures on key routes, including NH-2 near Wokha and between Chuchuyimlang and Unger, and NH-202 near Longkhum. Travelers should expect disruptions and verify current road conditions. Experience authentic Naga hospitality, smoked pork delicacies, and breathtaking panoramic views of the Doyang River.

⚠️ Roads near Wokha are currently experiencing severe disruptions. As of July 30, 2026, heavy rainfall triggered multiple landslides in Wokha, with some major landslides completely blocking the Wokha–Merapani Road (part of NH-2). Clearance work is ongoing and expected to take considerable time. Additionally, on August 8, 2026, continuous rainfall caused further landslides across Wokha district, damaging property and disrupting road connectivity, including areas adjacent to NH-2. Furthermore, as of July 20-21, 2026, a major section of NH-2 between Chuchuyimlang and Unger (on the route to Mokokchung) has collapsed and is impassable, cutting off Tuli subdivision and disrupting a key transport corridor. Travelers should exercise extreme caution, expect significant delays, and check local conditions for alternative routes as no motorable alternate route was immediately available for the NH-2 collapse. District administrations have been advised to issue travel advisories.
